چکیده

For an existing IEEE 13-node feeder, Genetic Algorithm (GA) based method is applied to determine the optimal solution to the DOPF problem. An approach to solve optimality problem was proposed, in which a compromise is made on optimality in order to reduce the computational burden. In this paper a 9-bus feeder circuit is developed and performed power flow studies by using MATPOWER 4.1 software. The previously proposed GA method is compared with it, in terms of both optimality and computational burden. When compared with GA-based method, newly proposed heuristic solution method yields to superior solutions reasonably close to the global optima at a significantly reduced computational burden, demonstrating that the heuristic solution method has the potential to improve distribution system operation in practical real-time applications. The results show that the GA-based method yields solutions in terms of optimality but at a rather large computational cost, making it unsuitable for practical

Optimal Locating and Sizing of Unified Power Quality Conditioner- phase Angle Control for Reactive Power Compensation in Radial Distribution Network with Wind Generation

In this article, a multi-objective planning is demonstrated for reactive power compensation in radial distribution networks with wind generation via unified power quality conditioner (UPQC). UPQC model, based on phase angle control (PAC), is used. In presented method, optimal locating of UPQC-PAC is done by simultaneous minimizing of objective functions such as: grid power loss, percentage of n...

Optimal Reconfiguration and Capacitor Allocation in Radial Distribution Systems Using the Hybrid Shuffled Frog Leaping Algorithm in the Fuzzy Framework

In distribution systems, in order to diminish power losses and keep voltage profiles within acceptable limits, network reconfiguration and capacitor placement are commonly used. In this paper, the Hybrid Shuffled Frog Leaping Algorithm (HSFLA) is used to optimize balanced and unbalanced radial distribution systems by means of a network reconfiguration and capacitor placement. High accuracy and ...

ارائه روشی مبتنی بر الگوریتم‌های هوشمند برای حل پخش‌بار احتمالی جهت برنامه‌ریزی و بهره‌برداری از ریزشبکه‌ها

One of the basic components of future distribution networks are renewable energy resources (RER). The uncertainty in power production of renewable resources such as wind and solar as well as load is another characteristic of such networks. Conventional power flow methods as a basic tool for power system studies may not be suitable for active distribution networks such as microgrids. In this pap...

Improving the Conditions in a Radial Distribution Feeder by Implementing Distributed Generation

Distribution feeder is the final stage in the delivery of electricity to consumers. The feeder can be radial or networked. Radial feeders leave the power station towards the consumers without any connection to other power supply. Networked feeders have multiple connections to other supply points. It is common for long radial feeders for voltage to drop along the way and for losses to increase w...

Reconfiguration of distribution systems to improve reliability and reduce power losses using Imperialist Competitive Algorithm

Distribution systems can be operated in multiple configurations since they are possible combinations of radial and loop feeders. Each configuration leads to its own power losses and reliability level of supplying electric energy to customers. In order to obtain the optimal configuration of power networks, their reconfiguration is formulated as a complex optimization problem with different objec...
